| How does it work?
The system uses CE approved Secured
Wireless Technology, which makes false alarms and tampering
near impossible, the sensors and controller constantly 'talk to each
other' checking for the complete integrity of the system.
When the sensors pick up an intruder the system will instantly both
activate the siren and auto dial to your first choice telephone number,
if it is not answered then the dialler will go on to the next number and
so on until it gets a confirmed reply. When the recipient answers the
call your recorded message is played alerting them to the incident.
Answer phones or voice mail do not affect the system. The call has
to be answered by the recipient pressing 0 otherwise the dialler will go
on to call the next number. When the person receiving the call dials 0
they can then listen to what is going on in the building for up to a
minute, the siren is muted when the call is accepted. The console then
remains on alert until disarmed.
There are 32 zones on the system,
that's 30 wireless zones and two wired contacts. Digital passive
infrared PIR Motion/heat sensors, Door/Window sensors, Light/Dimmer
switches in conjunction with the timer facility and external sounders
can be fitted as well as additional internal sounders. All controlled by
the controller unit and the remote controls. All sensors and additional
accessories can be retro fitted.
The 'Safeguard' is programmed at
all stages by using your own PIN
code and it has a tamper function, which will activate the siren and the
dialler if it is triggered. Alarm status is provided visually on the
controller.
When at home the motion sensors
are disabled but the door/window sensors remain
active and you can select whether to have the siren on or the
chime facility, useful in the event of distraction
burglary.
For covert operation the siren
can be switched off.
There is also a panic alarm facility,
which operates whether the alarm is armed away, or at home. The PIR
motion detectors are switched off so that you are able to move around
the property without setting off the alarm. If the holder gets into a
distress situation then a press on the panic buttons on the key chain
remote and it will activate the siren/chime and the auto dialler. In
this case the message is pre-recorded to state that it is an emergency
alarm as opposed to a break in.
Call in function is also part of
the system that enables you to call from an outside telephone or mobile
and check the status and settings of the system whilst you are away from
the property. This can also be used to arm/disarm the system, turn on
the lights etc.
Back up batteries are installed
in case of an interruption in the power supply. The battery status of
the sensors, remote control, and controller back up batteries, is
constantly checked by the controller and a warning activated. Battery
life is approx 12 months under normal usage.
The Lamp module is an additional
accessory that will control a light. A timer is included in the system
for turning on lights at pre-programmed times, it can be set DAILY, ONCE
ONLY, RANDOM, and ARMED ONLY for when the system is in armed away mode.
